To obtain a Springfield Township Library card:
Bring a valid picture ID demonstrating Springfield Township residency to the circulation desk. If your picture ID does not list a current Springfield Township residence, bring an accompanying utility bill, Springfield Township voter registration card, or official rental/home ownership documents which will demonstrate Springfield Township residency.
You must be 18 years of age or accompanied by your legal caregiver to obtain a library card.
A Springfield Township Library card entitles you to check out items, participate in all library programs, interloan items from MeL (Michigan Electronic Library) and our 54-member library cooperative (TLN). You are subject to each member library's rules and regulations.
Non-Residents:
Non-residents of Springfield Township do not contribute to the library through their property taxes, so there is annual fee of $75.00 per family to receive a Springfield Township Library card. Alternately, there is a 3-month fee of $25.00 per family. This fee entitles you to checkout items from our collection, participate in library programs, interloan items from MeL (Michigan Electronic Library) and our 54-member library cooperative (TLN). It is up to the individual libraries in our cooperative to honor your non-resident library card. You are subject to their rules and regulations.
You must be 18 years of age or accompanied by your legal caregiver to obtain a library card.
Card Expiration:
All library cards expire annually. You will be required to show a valid picture ID listing your current Springfield Township address or show proof of Springfield Township residency as well as update other account information. If you are a non-resident and want to renew your membership you will be required to pay the annual fee.
